The towns of Lake George and Queensbury have miles of Lake George shoreline, and are home to many year round residents. The community of Lake George encompasses the southern basin of the lake, and is a mix of residential and commercial properties offering endless opportunities for recreation- a bike trail leads from the head of the lake to Glens Falls following the old rail lines of yesteryear, climbing Prospect Mountain, parasailing, boating, game arcades, Old time photo shops, and some good shopping. North Queensbury is home to Assembly Point, Cleverdale, and Pilot Knob which are primarily residential areas.
The town of Queensbury is home to the major shopping corridors- the Million Dollar Half Mile (home to numerous outlet stores), the Aviation Mall, and the big box stores like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Hannaford, Price Chopper, to name a few. Dining possibilities are endless, from Bistro Leroux with it’s creative menu, ethnic food options from Indian to sushi to Thai, the famous Dirt Dogs from New Way Lunch, to classic favorites like Appleby’s, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster.
