Remarks

An amazing opportunity! While not on Lake George I thought this was too great  to have overlooked by location. This house with it's private lake is located about an hour north-west of Albany, a bit north of Sagandaga in the woods and along the shore of Sand Lake. Northville, about 20 minutes away has a Grand Union for groceries, also a Stewarts and church. It is a great retreat from the hustle bustle of today's world and return to the quieter days of past years with no cell phone reception (yes, even Verizon and Nextel) or television, no internet (you can go to the Northville Public Library and log on there) and no power boats. Canoe, rowboat and kayak are provided, no private boats or motor craft are allowed on the property, nor ATVs or pets. A true retreat, reconnect with yourself, friends and family. There are books and games for the more sedentary and maps of hiking or mountain biking trails for the more energetic. Go fishing! From the mounted specimans around the houses the fishing has been great.  Go float on the lake and enjoy the peace and lack of distraction.

Friday to Friday Rental: The four bedrooms can accommodate up to 9 people in the 7 twin beds and the full bed. The house has a kitchen-dining area, a sitting area with woodstove for heat, two bathrooms (one with tub only). There's a washer/dryer with the house and linens and towels are provided. This log cabin is at the south end of the houses with woods on one side and the Great Camp on the other. There's a picnic table and grill on the lawn to the south of the house with a short path to the  screen gazebo-deck by the shore. There's a T shaped dock for the canoe and kayak.

This camp is part of the Adirondack Great Camp Akwissasne built by the Broadway director and producer Anthony Brady Farrell. In 1956 Anthony B. Farrell Productions took over the operation of the local Sagandaga Summer Theatre and brought in talent from New York including Groucho Marx, Walter Mattau, Imogene Coca and Charlton Heston. Paul Barnes the scenic designer and Samuel Levine the director and composer worked with Farrell over the next several years to produce the summer theatre. Farrell's estate included several small lakes but the house and family buildings were all built along the shore of Sand Lake situated in such a way that the views were of the mountains and lake not the houses. Now the estate sits on 500 acres in the midst of 13,000 acres with trails for hiking and some for mountain biking (maps are provided for tenants.)

If your party is larger then the 9 that this house can sleep there is a second house available some weeks, the Beach house which can accommodate 18. That's a Saturday to Saturday rental and is on our site under the price $1850.00. You could then have 27 people, Great for family reunions.

House is available until Columbus Day for fishermen or those who just want to get away from it all. Week minimum but flexible starts. Remember only heat is woodstove.
