Great location and history all in one. The Lake View House, originally opened in 1879 was a popular hotel in the Bolton area. Up to 100 guests arrived by steamboat at the Bolton docks and then were carted by smaller steamer to the hotel. In 1920 John Apperson purchased the property and the summer of 1921 Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt stayed there following Roosevelt's failed bid for the Democratic nomination for Vice President. In 1930's the main house of the hotel burned down leaving the 1896 Annex with the music room, kitchen and a dozen or so additional rooms. This is what remains today giving the residents 8 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen updated in the style of the original-beautiful stove, a tv room and the very large music room which has a stage, a piano and various games. There's a great sleeping porch with 4 twin beds on the second floor. Definitely fun! Wireless internet, outdoor shower, 3 full baths and a half.
There's a sundeck over U shaped dock with space for a 25' boat along the side, there's a beach area and sandy swimming. Just a great place for a family get together. Can sleep up to 16 people.
